HTC Jetstream hands-on

When it comes exactly to tablets, HTC puts two on the table. A 7-inch Gingerbread powered HTC Flyer to the new 10-inch Honeycomb powered HTC Jet stream which has been announced in the US on AT&T carrier.

Are you even aware of the way how Honeycomb works on the new 10-inch model and what it looks like in the flesh? We made our way to Istanbul of all places, to have a full preview of this new tablet, thanks to Qualcomm for all the hospitality.

In the flesh and the tablet is large enough, comparatively bigger than the 7-inch Flyer and more like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 rather than keeping the same design.

The front side is largely dominated by a screen, so much so, there are no buttons to use with the Jet stream instead using Honeycomb’s on screen button options that give you some control over what you can do. The room on the front side is enough to bestow you with a front-facing camera and as well as respective logos of HTC and AT&T.

The high definition display is quite crispier and bright, although we wouldn’t call it an outstanding resolution from any angle.

The sidings are void of detail too and all you’ll see is a simple power button LED light and a headphone socket on the top side with a micro USB charging port at the bottom.

The rear side of the device offers you more option than its front-side, thankfully. There is a speaker and an 8 MP camera for those who need to capture memories.

Inside, there is an integration of Snapdragon 1.5 GHZ dual-core processor and LTE/HSPA connectivity. IT will be supporting video play back of 1080p in full swing.

This device will be found running on Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system and also represents the first iteration of the HTC Sense user experience on Honeycomb.

Like this company’s offering the 7 incher, the HTC Flyer, the Jetstream will also be working with its stylus. The HTC Scribe, an optional digital pen accessory although sadly Qualcomm did not arrange one for any visitor to try out but it is still fine.

In the nutshell, this product still takes care of business like it expected to do, offering all a very friendly Sense UI interface for those who want to take full advantage of Honeycomb OS and what it offers to Android tablet users  as well.

The same bunch of innards are used in this device like the HTC Flyer, however, the Jetsream seemed quicker and more responsive than any other tablet we have seen so far.

The design upfront is totally dependent on touch feature with a brushed metal casing seemed quite a nice combination made by HTC. The device will be made available in the US very shortly and although nothing is confirmed, it is expected to roll out in the markets of UK sometime in future.
