Microsoft’s Windows Phone Skype app will launch soon
Microsoft’s Windows Phone Skype app is going to get release soon. ‘Rick Osterloh’, the Skype’s VP of products revealed in an interview at CES 2012 that “Microsoft’s Skype division is working on a Windows Phone product that will be coming out soon”. The Company has refused to give details to their Skype plans after the company acquired the voice and video calling service in October.
The Director of Microsoft’s Windows Phone program, ‘Joe Belfiore’ promised that Skype would be integrated on Windows Phone in late 2011; the date which have passed without any comment and clarification from the company. We comprehend that the early release of Skype will not feature deep Windows Phone integration and that Microsoft is planning for “Apollo”, the next Generation Windows Phone and ahead of.
Microsoft’s first Windows Phone Skype app will chiefly be seen as a temporary release until the release of Apollo which is expected to be available later this year. Microsoft has demonstrated the app at MIX 2011 and it is pretty similar to the one which was shown originally.
Yet no date is acquired from Microsoft for the launch of app but with Mobile World Congress in February and the Promise of ‘soon’ make us presume that the Skype app for Windows Phone is going to launch in Barcelona next month.
