Feb 20 How to Install Windows 8 Charms Bar for Windows 7

We might acknowledge our readers with it that the latest version of windows is coming along with some innovative and attractive Charms Bar.

As you know that the Windows 8 Consumer Preview Beta is just a week away to publicize and no doubt in it that it is commencing with a number of new features and also an improved Charms Bar.

The folks who are interested to get this Charms Bar for Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 can now download a new skin for RocketDock. A deviantart member, PeterRollar has designed Windows 8 DP Charms Bar style skin for RocketDock.

Procedure:

1^st Step: Download RocketDock which is a free application launcher for Windows. As you have downloaded it once then run the setup file and then allow on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

2^nd Step: Now Download Charms Bar skin RAR file. Extract the skin file, and then place the Charmbar Transparent folder in the skins folder of Rocket Dock. That means simply move Charm Bar Transparent folder to C:\Program Files\RocketDock\Skins. In case you are on a x64 version of Windows, copy the folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\RocketDock\Skins folder.

3^rd Step: Replace the default Icons folder present in Skins folder with the Icons folder that you have just obtained by unzipping the skin file.

4^th Step: Place settings.ini file in C:\Program Files\RocketDock folder. Again, x64 users need to place the same file in C:\Program Files (x86)\RocketDock folder.

5^th Step: finally Launch RocketDock program. Go to Dock Settings, select Style in the left-pane, and then select Charmbar Transparent from the drop down list. Click Ok button to set the new skin.
