How to Clear Browsing History in Chrome, Firefox & IE9 (For Beginners)
Sometimes it happens that we browse something personal and don’t want others to view our browsing history, like if we are planning something for our dear one’s birthday and we don’t want it to get exposed. And we somehow forget to do such browsing without going into Private Mode. In such conditions we need to clear our browsing history. I am giving this guide for beginners so keep it in mind before leaving your comments below.
For Chrome:
Clearing Browsing History in Chrome takes only a few clicks. To do this you have to click the Wrench icon present at the top right corner of the browsing page, and then select tools and choose the Clear Browsing data. Alternatively you can do it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Del keyboard combination.
This will show a new dialog box, uncheck all the options besides Clear browsing history and clear download history; you will also need to change the option to wipe out the data from the beginning of time. Your dialog box should look like as showing below before you hit the clear browsing data button.
For Firefox:
Firefox makes it much easy to clear your web history as you simply have to click on the Firefox button and then expand History Section, from there select the Clear Recent History Option. As an alternate you can go for the Ctrl+Shift+Del keyboard combination.
Change the time range to Everything and then expand Details.
Uncheck everything except the Browsing & Download History and then hit the Clear Now button.
For Internet Explorer 9:
At the present time only a few people use Internet Explorer (I don’t know why but they do). So for those we have to cover it too. On IE9 click on Settings, Navigate to Safety and choose the Delete browsing history option.
Alternatively you can to press the Ctrl+Shift+Del keyboard combination.
Uncheck all the options except for History and then hit the delete button.
Of course there are a lot of other things you can clear for your browsers and all the check boxes clear different things, so go ahead and explore at least next time you need to delete your history in a hurry, you will know where to go.
